The smallest frog in the world

Research the tropics need to be developed to find a new speciesor that have not been found because it is too small, and very necessary to keep the environment in order to maintain sustainability

Researchers from Louisiana State University (LSU), Chris Austin, has discovered two new species of frog in Papua New Guinea. One of them is known as vertebrate animals (vertebrates) the world’s smallest with a size of about 7.7 millimeters.

“It’s hard to know where Paedophryne amauensis because of its small size,” said Austin.

The new species was defeated Paedocypris progenetica, species of fish from Indonesia are measuring more than eight millimeters.

Austin, who led a team of researchers from American and LSUgraduate student, Eric Rittmeyer, discovered the species in the expedition for three months in Papua New Guinea.

The second species, Paedophryne swiftorum, sized slightly larger than Paedophryne amauensis with an average body size of 8.5 millimeters.

“Ecosystems are very small second frog is very similar. They inhabit the tropical rain forest leaves,” said Austin.

Austin claimed invention as a major finding of this team. PapuaNew Guinea is a center of biodiversity.

“We now believe that these creatures are not a biological oddity, but describes the discovery of previously undocument edecological,” he continued.

The results of this study was published in the journal Public Library of Science One on January 11. (antaranews.com Isu.edu)
